UTF-8 Arabic Scripts

Several writing systems use Scripts that Resemble Arabic because they were derived from or influenced by it.

These scripts often share cursive forms, dots, and right-to-left directionality:

  • Arabic Script
    Used by: Arabic, Persian (Farsi), Urdu, Pashto, Kurdish (Sorani), Uyghur, Sindhi, Kashmiri.

  • Syriac Script
    Used by: Syriac, Assyrian Neo-Aramaic, Classical Aramaic.

  • Hebrew Script
    Used by: Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, and other Jewish languages.

  • Thaana Script
    Used by: Dhivehi (Maldivian language).

  • Mandaic Script
    Used by:The Mandaean religious community in southern Iraq and southwestern Iran.

  • N'Ko Script
    Used by: Manding languages (like Bambara).
